How safe are your medicines and cleaning products at home?

We wanted to share the results of a new survey from the Child Accident Prevention Trust. The survey has found that three in four parents with children under 5 mistakenly believe that child safety caps make medicines and toxic cleaning products child-proof. While they slow children down and can prevent most from opening them, some three and four-year-olds can open them in seconds.
The survey also revealed that less than a quarter of parents keep cleaning products or medicines safely locked away.
Every day 70 under 5s are rushed to A&E with suspected poisoning and 15 are admitted to hospital, with medicines and cleaning products being the most common cause.
